Jack was peacefully playing with his legos when he came across a pamphlet in one of the boxes. He told me it was the URL for a starwars website, and that he was going to check it out.
Next, I sat innocently watching tv while he played on the computer. I didn't need to supervise him. I thought. It's just a starwars site. It turns out he was acually on e-bay bidding on 10 POUNDS OF LEGOS.
Then he came back from the computer. My brother was smart, but he couldn't fool the whole family. I saw that the internet was closed down, so on the surface it looked like all the evidence had been erased... but not for long...
The highlight was when my mom came home. Seeing as that I had known nothing about this, I was shocked. Because we got an email saying that we won the bid. You can imagine that my mom was pretty mad.
At last, Mom and Dad of course, had the talk with him about how not to go on the computer without supervision. But the only mystery that was then on our hands was 'how did he learn how to bid?'
Looking back on this, I think I probably should have supervised him on the computer in the first place.
